What we store and why

Cookie Policy

DailyCalc uses a small number of cookies: Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, Google AdSense to show the ads that keep the site free, and a consent cookie that remembers your choice.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. Your calculator inputs are never stored in cookies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and device identifiers. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

These are first-party cookies set on dailycalc.store. They tell us which calculators are used and where visitors come from, never what numbers you entered.

  • _ga — distinguishes one browser from another to count unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<container-id> — keeps session state for Google Analytics 4. Expires after 2 years.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

Google and its advertising partners set cookies on google.com, doubleclick.net and related domains to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, detect click fraud, measure ad performance, and — where you allow it — personalise ads based on your browsing. Typical names include __gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE, DSID, NID and test_cookie, with lifetimes from a few minutes up to 13 months. Google publishes the full list and purposes.

Strictly necessary storage

Our hosting provider may use technical cookies for security and load balancing. These are exempt from consent because the site cannot be delivered safely without them. Your browser also caches stylesheets, scripts and images so pages load faster — that is ordinary caching, not tracking.

Calculator values

Values you type into a calculator live in the page's memory only. They are not written to cookies, not written to local storage, and not sent to a server or to Google. Refreshing or closing the tab clears them.

Managing your choices

EEA, UK and Swiss visitors can change or withdraw consent at any time with the "Privacy & cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

Everyone can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, block third-party cookies in their browser, or delete cookies for this site from their browser's privacy settings. Blocking cookies will not break the calculators.

Changes

If we add or remove a cookie, we update this page and its date before the change goes live.
